As we evaluate our approach to case reviews involving electronic fetal monitoring, I want to highlight the critical role the AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring course plays in establishing the nursing standards of care.
During the litigation process, the AWHONN curriculum is frequently cited as a resource for defining what a reasonable and prudent nurse would do specific to fetal monitoring interpretation and management.
